betting layout
Surface with designated betting spaces on which players place chips to represent their bets.
single zero 
If the zero comes up, any chips that players bet on red, black, even, odd, high or low are imprisoned.
split bet 
The chip is placed on a line dividing two numbers; if one of those two numbers comes up, the bet wins back 17 times the original stake.
double zero 
Number added to the American betting layout; the chip is placed in the center of the square and if that number comes up, the bet wins back 35 times the original stake.
square bet 
The chip is placed at the intersection of four numbers; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins back eight times the original stake.
line 
The chip is placed on the line dividing the final two squares in two adjacent rows; if one of those six numbers comes up, the bet wins back five times the original stake.
five-number bet 
The chip is placed in the upper left hand corner of square 1; if 00, 0, 1, 2 or 3 comes up, the bet wins back six times the original stake.
straight bet 
The chip is placed squarely in the center of any number; if that number comes up, the bet wins back 35 times the original stake.
street bet 
The chip is placed on the outside edge of a row; if one of the three numbers in the row comes up, the bet wins 11 times the original stake.
two columns split bet 
The chip is placed on one of the two lines between the three lower squares; if one of the numbers in those two columns comes up, the bet wins half the original stake.
column 
Each of the three vertical rows of 12 numbers.
dozen (25 to 36) 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on numbers 25 through 36; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins twice the original stake.
high (19 to 36) 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on numbers 19 through 36; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins the original stake.
odd 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on the odd numbers; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins the original stake.
black 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on the black numbers; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins the original stake.
en prison 
Area where the chip is placed when the bet is imprisoned; it is either released or lost on the following turn.
dozen (13 to 24) 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on numbers 13 through 24; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins twice the original stake.
red 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on the red numbers; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins the original stake.
even 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on the even numbers; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins the original stake.
dozen (1 to 12) 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on numbers 1 through 12; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins twice the original stake.
low (1 to 18) 
The chip is placed on this square to bet on numbers 1 through 18; if one of those numbers comes up, the bet wins the original stake.
